We're proud to offer some of the best fishing packages in Sunset Country. Our packages include clean, comfortable modern cabins, great equipment, as well as unlimited live bait and fuel for your boat.
We are located on Banning Lake, the centre of the Seine River Chain of Lakes. Right from the lodge you have water-access to 5 lakes / 30 miles of terrific fishing. You'll have access to Hepburn Bay, Calm Lake, Banning Narrows, Banning Lake, Chub Narrows, Chub Lake, Little McCauley Lake, Perch Narrows and Perch Lake without ever having to leave your boat. The system boasts an array of different water to suit your angling desires - smaller lakes and larger lakes, dozens of islands, bays, river channels with current, tons of structure and varying depths.
The Seine Chain is known for a strong annual walleye spawn, and offers a very high population of "good eaters" with a number of trophy walleye caught each year. The stained water keeps the action going all day long.
We also are home to some of the best smallmouth bass fishing Ontario - and Canada - has to offer. Our world class smallmouth have gained a reputation with high numbers and loads of large trophy "football" smallies, and attract professional and recreational smallmouth anglers from all over North America. The Seine Chain and the Atikokan area as a whole is definitely a go to fishing location for trophy smallmouth bass fishing!
Our weedy bays, rocky structure and prolific forage-base produce excellent northern pike fishing. Lots of numbers and action and a chance at that monster pike awaits you!
And if panfish are what you're after, we've recently started seeing some really nice crappie and you may find yourself getting into a bit of yellow perch action (if you can get to them before the walleye & pike do!).
For many, there's no need to ever leave the Seine Chain, but for the angler seeking some adventure, we are in the centre of literally dozens of remote lakes to fish and explore. You could easily fish a different lake every day. Access to the remote lakes varies from easy - drive to a short walking trail to a boat & motor cache - to some lakes that you may have to work at a bit more to get to. Our more popular cache lakes are Dovetail Lake, Ear Lake & Miranda Lake & Twinling Lake.
With our fishing packages, you also have the use of a boat trailer to access trailer to launch lakes. The most popular lakes our guests trailer to are Pipe Lake, Whelan Lake, Big McCauley Lake, Seine River (below the Calm Lake dam), Lerome Lake & Icy Lake.
We have remote lakes that offer all of the fish species that the Seine has, and some have outstanding lake trout fishing as well. Some of the remote lakes are rarely fished (in particular ones with tougher access), and offer some incredible action.
Being located where we are - near Atikokan Ontario - Canada's Canoeing Capital - we also offer partial canoe trip outfitting for Quetico Provincial Park and the thousands of miles around it - including the White Otter Lake / Turtle River Waterway Park.
We offer 17' Souris River Quetico Kevlar or 17' Alumacraft aluminum canoes as well as 3 person Kevlar canoes. We can pick up your Quetico permits and have them waiting for you and also issue Crown Land Camping Permits and Ontario fishing licences.
Shuttles are available to / from all entry points.
Let us be your headquarters for your canoe trip adventure...we'd love to share our amazing wilderness with you!
Hunting:
We offer a spring & fall black bear hunt. Numerous bear populate our hunting area with occasional color phase.
Ruffed and Spruce Grouse are plentiful on our miles of roads and woods. The action our fall grouse hunt offers is an annual highlight with our hunters.
Our moose population continues to be strong, and we offer cabin rentals to Ontario moose (& deer) hunters with their own tags in WMU 11A & 12B.
We invite you to explore our web site and contact us with any questions.
